Our role is to keep the process productive, focused, and forward-moving.
Mediator with Legal Insight When You Need It
This process is built around mediation, not litigation.
Working with a mediator who is also an attorney means you’re not navigating important legal decisions without context. You’ll have the benefit of understanding how agreements align with the law, while still keeping the process collaborative and solution-focused.
The goal isn’t to “win.” It’s to reach agreements that are practical, fair, and built to last.
Why Clients Choose Divorce Mediation
Many people come to mediation because they want to avoid the emotional and financial strain of a traditional divorce.
Mediation allows you to:
- Maintain privacy instead of going through public court proceedings
- Reduce legal costs compared to litigation
- Move at a more efficient and flexible pace
- Create customized agreements that reflect your real-life needs
- Reduce conflict and preserve important relationships, especially when children are involved
Your Questions About Mediation, Answered
Still not sure if mediation is right for you? These are the questions we hear most often.
Mediation is a structured dispute resolution process where a trained mediator facilitates conversations between both parties, guiding them toward voluntary agreements without court involvement. Sessions are available in person or via secure video call, at a time and format that works for you.
No. Remote sessions via secure video are available.
Once the parties sign a written settlement agreement, it becomes a legally enforceable contract under New York or New Jersey law. However, in divorce and family matters, court review and approval are often required for the agreement to take full legal effect. We strongly recommend that each party have independent legal counsel review any proposed agreement.
