If you're here, something in your life or business isn't working, and you need a way forward that doesn't make things worse.
If you’re facing a divorce or a business dispute, you already know how quickly things can escalate.
What starts as a disagreement can turn into months, or even years, of stress, expense, and uncertainty.
Court isn’t just time-consuming. It’s often overwhelming, expensive, and completely out of your control.
The traditional legal process often turns conflict into a battle. More time. More expense. More stress.
And in the end, decisions are often made by someone who doesn’t fully understand your situation.
Divorce is one of the most significant transitions a person can face. Mediation helps you work through the decisions that matter most, together, without a courtroom.
Business disputes can disrupt everything: operations, partnerships, and future growth. We help businesses resolve conflicts quickly, privately, and without litigation.
Sessions are available in person or via secure video call – whichever works best for you. No courthouse visits, no unnecessary travel, no rigid scheduling.
Whether you meet in person or remotely, the process is designed around your schedule and your needs.
You can start the process as soon as you’re ready.

Choosing the right mediator matters.
Some mediators don’t have legal experience. Some attorneys approach conflict through litigation.
Howard Wieder, Esq. offers a different approach.
Legally informed mediation focused on resolution - not courtroom conflict.
As a licensed attorney in New York and New Jersey and a trained mediator, Howard brings legal knowledge and real-world dispute resolution experience into every mediation session while serving solely as a neutral mediator - not as an attorney representing either party. His role is to help both parties work toward practical, informed resolutions in a more respectful and productive environment.
If you've never experienced mediation before, it's completely normal to feel unsure about what to expect. Here's exactly how it works.
A no-obligation consultation, via video conference - typically 20 minutes, to understand your situation and confirm mediation is the right fit for you.
You'll complete a brief confidential intake form so the Mediator can understand the key issues in advance and design sessions that use your time efficiently.
Sessions are typically 60 - 90 minutes. The mediator helps both parties stay focused, work through key issues, and move toward practical, workable agreements.
Upon resolution, a settlement agreement is prepared documenting all of the decisions reached by the parties.
Wieder Law and Mediation was built on a simple belief:
Howard Wieder, Esq. has been working within the legal system for over 20 years. He has watched clients spend too much time and too much money fighting battles that could have been resolved across a table.
Today, clients describe the process as clearer, calmer, and more productive than they expected. That’s not an accident. It’s the design.
